Today, Eighth Era 1.0 went dark. We told you this day was coming back in December, and now it’s here.
But this post isn’t about what’s ending. It’s about what we built together, what it meant, and what’s coming next. Because we have a lot to share with you today and we’re not waiting around to do it. Alongside this post, we’re launching a brand new website and dropping the first real look at the world of Eighth Era 2.0. So stick around.
First, let’s celebrate.
To the Players Who Showed Up
When we launched Eighth Era, we had a vision for what a hero-collector RPG could be. A universe where time itself is the battleground and the rewards you earn in-game become real collectibles you hold in your hands. What we didn’t fully anticipate was how deeply you’d make that vision your own.
You battled through every hero event we threw at you. You competed in tournaments and sniped coins from each other in the final seconds. You sent scouts on missions across the eras and grinded battle pass seasons down to the last reward. You traded coins, discussed the best team loadouts, debated which gilted variants were the rarest, and showed up again and again, even when the game was rough around the edges.
You gave Eighth Era a heartbeat we could never have coded ourselves.
By the Numbers
Every one of those coins represents a moment someone chose to spend their time in a world we built. That is not something we take lightly.
Your Coins Carry Forward
We said it in December and we’ll say it again here: the coins you earned and collected in Eighth Era 1.0 are coming with you.
These original coins are the rarest artifacts in the entire ecosystem. No more Season 1 through 3 coins will ever be minted. They’re finite. They’re historical. And in Eighth Era 2.0, they become real, meaningful upgrades to your progression and power.
Your physical collection isn’t just memorabilia. It’s a gameplay layer in the new game. That was always the promise, and we’re delivering on it.
Why We’re Rebuilding
When I joined this team, one of my goals was to always be as transparent and forward with the community as possible. So here it is plainly: the game we want to build can’t be reached through small patches or incremental updates.
Eighth Era 1.0 gave us the foundation. The characters, the community, and most importantly, the clarity about what this universe should actually feel like when it’s firing on all cylinders.
One of the biggest realizations was that lore needed to become the cornerstone of everything we do. We don’t just want to make a game with cool characters and fun combat. We want to build a world that is rich enough to explore, grow into, and tell stories across for years to come. The kind of world where every hero, every faction, every location has a reason to exist and a story worth telling. That depth didn’t exist in 1.0 the way it needed to. In 2.0, it’s the foundation we’re building everything on top of.
So we made the call to rebuild from the ground up.
Eighth Era 2.0 is a complete reimagining. New creative direction. New art direction. New combat systems. New progression. A deeper, richer world and storyline built on lore that can support this universe for the long haul. Familiar heroes, reimagined and reintroduced with evolved kits, visuals, and lore that tie directly into the new universe we’re building.
This is the game we always wanted to make. And now we have the team, the tools, and the vision to actually make it.
What’s Coming
Over the next days, weeks, and months, we’re going to pull the curtain back on everything. The new art. The new world. The characters you know and the ones you haven’t met yet. The systems, the combat, the collectibles ecosystem, all of it.
Starting today. Right now. Alongside this post, we’re sharing:

We restructured. We rebranded. We brought on incredible new talent across art, animation, engineering, and design. We did all of that because we believe in this universe, in the stories it can tell, the characters it can bring to life, and the community that already exists around it.
Eighth Era Studios exists because of you. The name isn’t just a title. It’s a commitment that this world, these characters, and this community are what we’re building for. Not just a game. A universe.
